CAM Hot Topics — RULE 61E14-1.001 – Prelicensure Education Requirements

The Regulatory Council of Community Association Managers approved reductions in prelicensure and continuing education hour requirements, and later approved language allowing applicants to satisfy prelicensure education through interactive, real-time courses.

Prelicensure education hours for community association manager applicants were reduced from 18 hours to 16 hours. Continuing education hours for license renewal and reactivation were reduced from 20 hours to 15 hours. Rule 61E14-1.001 was amended to permit applicants to complete prelicensure education through interactive, real-time courses, with a definition of that term included in the rule.

Persons applying for a community association manager license and persons renewing or reactivating a community association manager license.

The education hour reductions became effective August 15, 2019. The interactive, real-time course language was approved on August 21, 2020.
