S0364 — Public Accountancy

Senate Bill 364, a measure addressing public accountancy licensing and continuing education requirements, died in the House on 2026-03-13 without passage.

The bill would have authorized the Board of Accountancy to competitively procure services with certain not-for-profit corporations for Division of Certified Public Accounting duties. It would have revised education and work experience requirements for certified public accountant licensure, required the board to prescribe specified coursework, and revised requirements for approval of continuing education providers on ethics for certified public accountants.

The bill applied to the Board of Accountancy, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and entities seeking or holding certified public accountant licenses in Florida.

The bill died in House Messages on March 13, 2026, and did not become effective.
