S0608 — Vacation Rentals

Senate Bill 608 was filed to require vacation rental applicants and licensees to install pool safety features and authorize the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to suspend, revoke licenses, and impose fines for non-compliance.

The bill requires applicants or licensees seeking to obtain or renew a license to operate a vacation rental to install a pool safety feature if a pool is located on the vacation rental property. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation is authorized to suspend or revoke a license and fine a licensee if a vacation rental is not in compliance with this requirement.

Vacation rental applicants and licensees with pools on their properties, regulated by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The bill was combined with CS/SB 658 on January 27, 2026, and the original bill was laid on table; the combined bill remains pending in the legislature.
