H0775 — Homeowner's Insurance Premium Reductions

H0775, a bill requiring homeowners' insurers to apply premium reductions for claim-free periods and mitigation upgrades, died in the Insurance & Banking Subcommittee on March 13, 2026.

The bill would have required premium reductions for homeowners maintaining specified claim-free periods, permitted homeowners with major storm claims to remain eligible for such reductions, directed the Office of Insurance Regulation to determine premium reduction schedules, prohibited insurers from treating major storm claims as other types of claims, and required premium reductions for homeowners completing mitigation upgrades. The bill did not become law.
