H0137 — Homeowners' Association Ombudsman

House Bill 137 proposed the creation of an Office of Homeowners' Association Ombudsman within the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation but died in committee on June 16, 2025.

The bill would have established a new Office of Homeowners' Association Ombudsman within the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, & Mobile Homes, with funding, gubernatorial appointment of an ombudsman, and specified powers and duties including administration of an election monitoring process. The bill imposed restrictions on the ombudsman and office employees regarding certain positions, activities, and remuneration.

The bill died in the Housing, Agriculture & Tourism Subcommittee and did not become law.
