H0207 — Door Alarms for Multifamily Residential Properties

House Bill 207, which would have required certain multifamily residential properties to install and maintain door alarms on specified doors, died in the Housing, Agriculture & Tourism Subcommittee on June 16, 2025.

The bill proposed to require installation and maintenance of door alarms on certain doors at specified multifamily properties, with annual inspections and documentation retention requirements. Door alarms would have been required to comply with the Florida Building Code. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation would have been authorized to enforce the requirement and impose administrative fines.
