The bill proposed to rename, remove, and redesignate specified boards, commissions, and councils within the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR); change office locations of certain divisions; transfer licensing authority from licensing boards to the department; remove postlicensure and continuing education requirements for real estate brokers, broker associates, and sales associates; revise violations and administrative penalties for retail tobacco and nicotine product dealers; and require the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to accept and process fingerprints for background checks conducted by the department.

The bill applied to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, licensing boards under DBPR authority, real estate professionals (brokers, broker associates, and sales associates), retail tobacco and nicotine product dealers, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
