H1213 — Windstorm Coverage by Citizens Property Insurance Corporation

H1213 was filed to remove windstorm risk apportionment plan agreements among property insurers and require Citizens Property Insurance Corporation to provide windstorm coverage to homeowners.

The bill would have required Citizens Property Insurance Corporation to make windstorm coverage available for residential structures and commercial lines residential structures, and would have established underwriting and administering requirements for the windstorm coverage portion of insurance. The bill would have removed existing provisions relating to windstorm risk apportionment plan agreements among property insurers.

The bill died in the Insurance & Banking Subcommittee on March 8, 2024, and did not become law.
