House Bill 1257 was filed to transfer the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes from DBPR to DLA and died in the Regulatory Reform & Economic Development Subcommittee on March 8, 2024.

The bill proposed a Type Two transfer of the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes to the Department of Legal Affairs by a specified date. The bill required DBPR and DLA to enter into a memorandum of agreement by a specified date and required DLA to develop rules and procedures for resolving certain disputes using all possible means of alternative dispute resolution.

Condominium associations, timeshare associations, and mobile home associations subject to regulation by the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes.

The bill died in committee on March 8, 2024, and did not become law.
