H1341 — Department of Business and Professional Regulation

House Bill 1341 was filed on January 9, 2026, and died in the Industries & Professional Activities Subcommittee on March 13, 2026.

The bill proposed to expand the Department of Business and Professional Regulation's jurisdiction over employment eligibility verification, authorize identity and work authorization validation before license issuance or renewal, require license suspension for persons not authorized to work in the United States, and prohibit licensed or permitted dealers from possessing or selling nitrous oxide on licensed premises. The bill did not advance beyond committee review.

The bill would have applied to persons and entities subject to Department of Business and Professional Regulation licensing and permitting authority, including talent agencies, barber boards, boards of cosmetology, and dealers of certain regulated products.

The bill died in committee on March 13, 2026, and did not become law.
