S0906 — Homeowners' Associations

Senate Bill 906 was filed to create an Office of the Homeowners' Association Ombudsman within the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes and died in committee.

The bill would have established an ombudsman office with authority to receive and investigate complaints from parcel owners regarding residential association development, construction, sale, lease, ownership, operation, and management. The Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes would have been authorized to issue citations and adopt rules related to these matters, and required to maintain a toll-free telephone number accessible to parcel owners.
