S0918 — Employment of Minors

Senate Bill 918, relating to employment of minors, died in the Regulated Industries committee on June 16, 2025.

The bill proposed to delete certain restrictions on minors 16 and 17 years of age being employed, permitted, or suffered to work, and to revise exceptions to such restrictions. The bill also proposed to delete a provision authorizing the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to grant a waiver of employment restrictions. The bill did not advance past committee.

The bill would have applied to employers of minors ages 16 and 17 in Florida, had it been enacted.

The bill died in committee on June 16, 2025, and did not become law.
