S1394 — Department of Business and Professional Regulation

Senate Bill 1394 was filed to revise responsibilities of law enforcement within the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and related provisions concerning employment verification, talent agencies, and hemp extract distribution.

The bill proposed revisions to investigative and enforcement duties of Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco officers, expansion of entities authorized to request employment eligibility documentation, restrictions on talent agency practices, and penalties for public lodging and food service establishments that distribute or sell hemp extract in violation of state hemp program rules.

Public lodging establishments, public food service establishments, talent agencies, employers, and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The bill died in the Regulated Industries Committee on March 13, 2026, and did not become law.
