Senate Bill 1406, filed January 5, 2024, proposed to exempt certain persons engaged in prescription drug destruction from specified inventory and vehicle security requirements.

The bill would have exempted persons who receive or distribute prescription drugs solely for destruction purposes from certain inventory and vehicle security requirements under Florida law. The bill would have required the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to adopt less stringent rules for such persons engaged in prescription drug destruction activities.

Persons who engage in the receipt or distribution of prescription drugs exclusively for the purpose of processing the drugs' destruction.

The bill died in the Regulated Industries Committee on March 8, 2024, and did not become law.
