S1600 — Community Associations

S1600, the Mobile Opportunity by Interstate Licensure Endorsement Act (MOBILE Act), was filed in the 2024 legislative session to establish requirements for occupational licensure by reciprocity and endorsement.

The bill requires applicable state boards, or the Department of Business and Professional Regulation if no board exists, to allow licensure by endorsement for applicants who meet specified criteria. The department and boards are required to review criminal history check results according to defined standards to determine licensure eligibility. The bill designates the measure as the MOBILE Act.

All occupational licensing boards in Florida, or the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for occupations without a designated board.

The bill passed the Senate on third reading on March 1, 2024, and was sent to the House in Messages on that date; final status and effective date depend on House action and gubernatorial approval.
